There is no denying that it can be fun to just plop yourself down at the Blackjack table and start playing even if you have never played the game before. You probably won't win any money but you will have a good time. However, when you are able to win money, the experience is even more enjoyable.
The best way to win money while playing Blackjack is to know the rules of the game and have a plan before you sit yourself at the table. You should approach Blackjack the same way you would play a game of football, you should have a strategy.
Game Strategy
Playing Blackjack is actually fairly simple. The rules of the game are that you are playing against the dealer. Whoever gets the closest to twenty-one, wins. The general rule of thumb is that if you have seventeen you should stand, never split tens, and always split aces.
Betting Strategy
Unless you are starting out with several hundred dollars in your bankroll, you should head for the tables that have a low minimum. You won't make as much money with each bet, but your bankroll will last longer and you will be able to better access if luck is favoring you.
If you are planning on starting out with a $100 in your pocket, you want to look for a table that will allow you to play $2-$5 each hand.
When you start playing you want to start your first bet at the table minimum, so in this case you want to bet $2 on your first hand. If you win the hand, you should double your next bet, each time you win a hand, you should double the bet, you should never increase the amount you wager unless you win the hand. So if you win the first hand, you will place $4 on your next hand, if you loose the first hand, you will only bet $2 on the second hand.
The other thing you need to decide, before you even leave your house to go to the casino, is how much you can reasonably afford to lose. This will determine the amount of cash you leave the house with, don't bring any other means of getting money with you, you will be to tempted to use it.
Winning money is only one reason to go to the casino and gamble. The other reason is to have a good time. Most gambling experts suggest that you find a table that has a crowd, this way you can meet new people and socialize while you are playing.
